Looking different generally doesn't cost that much so I can go along with that, but the performance does. A supercar like the Z32 just wouldn't be practical right now. Now give it an iteration or two and we might see something. Considering the designers for the Z33 are mostly young, they will be around to do this... and that's what I expect to happen again in the future. There's some other dynamics you might not be aware of.. like Nissan was on the brink of bankruptcy until a couple 3 years ago. The X-terra, the new Altima and the Z have successfully pulled it from the ditch. If you really want to know a lot about it, there's a book (I think Courtesy stocks it) called 'Turn Around - How Carlos Ghosn Rescued Nissan ISBN 0-06-051485-X. They needed to sell volume to get things right again. Part of that was reviving the Z from the grave since it is a marqee (sp?) vehicle in the manufacturer's lineup. They had to make it affordable again (the Z32 was not an affordable car, I wish it still weren't too). I think the Z33 is a home run as far as what Nissan expected! They listened to what we had to say, but they had to be realistic about it. They are a multibillion dollar company and going out of business and adding to the unemployment ranks just so someone could have 350hp off the showroom floor when they can't drive good enough to deal with it just isn't an option.
